Weekly update

Spring 2, Week 4
Following the success of assessment week, it’s been a busy week back on our regular timetable in Year 4.
Maths:
This week, we have completed our length and perimeter unit by looking at perimeter of regular and irregular polygons. Next up, fractions!
English:
In English, we have drafted, edited and published our persuasive letters to the Prime Minister during the Victorian Era. We’re really pleased with the results and how hard the children have worked.
Reading:
During guided reading, we have continued to work on our retrieval and inference skills with our comprehension being focused on a fiction text called ‘The Little Prince’.
Science:
We looked at the results of our ‘egg-cellent’ investigation and found out the effect that certain drinks have on the enamel of our teeth. Some of the eggs looked really disgusting!
PE:
In basketball, we started to look at our defensive skills, the defensive stance and preparing to delay an attack.
Geography:
We looked at how China is tackling water shortages and the problem that water pollution can cause.
PSHE:
Our latest Jigsaw lesson was about how to develop new friendships.
DT:
We are building our circuits ready to create our own night light.
Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Olivia-Rose and Lola F (4H), along with Dawson and Kray (4P), for their special mentions this week – well done!
