Weekly update

Spring 2, Week 3

Year 4 has had an exciting and eventful week! This was our second assessment week, and we are incredibly proud of how hard the children have worked and the effort they have put in. To maximise learning time, we focused on assessments in the mornings, leaving the afternoons free for curriculum activities. Here's a look at what we've been up to:

Science:
We explored how different liquids affect eggshells, as they closely resemble the enamel on human teeth. The children made predictions about which liquid would cause the most damage.

PE:
In basketball, we worked on movement skills to evade defenders, and in our second yoga session, we practised new poses.

Geography:
The children investigated the origins of the food we buy from other countries, discussing why imports are necessary. They then used atlases to locate these countries.

DT:
As part of our ongoing project, we examined how circuits function with switches and designed our own switch for the next stage.

Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Emily Y and Henry (4H), along with Miller and Ethan (4P), for their special mentions this week – well done!

Have a great weekend, and thank you for your continued support.

Mr Piper & Mr Hampton.
