Weekly Update

Spring 1 Week 6

We have reached the final week of half term so read on for the weekly update from Year 4.

Maths:
We finished our multiplication and division unit and the children did really well on their end of unit assessments. We have now moved onto length and perimeter with our first lessons focusing on centimetres, metres and kilometres.

English:
We have critiqued and improved an existing persuasive letter as well as writing our own independent paragraph. Today, we have planned our persuasive letters and this will continue after the holiday as we prepare for our first draft.

Reading:
We were on the edge of our seats as Jim tried to find food and a way to survive in the latest chapters of Street Child.

Science:
We finalised our Electricity unit by investigating which materials could be classed as insulators and which could be classed as conductors.

PE:
In gymnastics, we developed our skills in forward rolls, balancing, starting and finishing position.

History:
We justified our opinion around which of the changes during the Victorian era were the most impactful on Britain today.

Spanish:
This week, we consolidated all our knowledge from the Mi Familia unit and completed our end of unit assessment.

Computing:
We continued working with Turtle Academy, understanding how to write repeated code.

Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Hollie and Dakota (4H), alongside Tyler and Jakub (4P), for their special mentions this week – well done!

Thank you for your continued support.
