Weekly Update
Here’s a summary of what we’ve been learning this week:
Maths:
We continued exploring division and correspondence questions, which the children found really engaging. As today is NSPCC Number Day, we took part in various fun mathematical activities.
English:
We began our new writing genre—persuasive letters. The children identified key features of persuasive writing and practised using superlatives and exaggeration to enhance their arguments.
Reading:
Our journey with Street Child continues, and the children are thoroughly enjoying it. This week, we focused on answering a variety of question types using our reading skills.
Science:
In our Electricity unit, we investigated how to create circuits with lit bulbs. The children also learnt to draw circuit diagrams using electrical symbols.
PE:
In gymnastics, we developed our skills in straight, barrel, forward, and straddle rolls.
History:
We explored what life was like for children in the Victorian era, including the types of jobs they had and how schools then compared to modern-day education.
Spanish:
This week, we learnt how to say the names of different family members in Spanish.
Computing:
We continued working with Turtle Academy, using code to design an initial.
Art:
As part of our Lowry project, we began planning and creating our final piece, incorporating tone and a vanishing point.
Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Hunter and Lola F (4H), alongside Sophie and Olivia (4P), for their special mentions this week – well done!
Congratulations to Carson and Willow (4H), along with Jessie and Sam (4P), for being our Always Children!
Thank you for your continued support.
