Spring 1 Week 3
It has been another productive week in Year 4 as we settle into the new term. The children are thoroughly enjoying our Victorian Era topic, along with our science unit on electricity.
Maths:
This week, we explored multiplying by 10 and 100 before moving on to using related facts for multiplication and division.
English:
In English, we began by learning about the present progressive tense. The children then planned their explanatory texts about coastal erosion, progressing to writing their pieces independently and refining their work.
Reading:
We continued reading the fiction text Street Child. The children are fully engaged with the story and have demonstrated strong skills in answering both retrieval and inference questions.
Science:
In our Electricity unit, we investigated why different items require different power sources.
PE:
Our gymnastics sessions this week focused on improving control during rotations and perfecting landings.
History:
We took a closer look at the Industrial Revolution, exploring how it transformed life in Victorian Britain.
Spanish:
The children learnt how to ask and respond to the question, “Do you have any siblings?” in Spanish.
Art:
As part of our project on Lowry, we continued developing our skills by learning how to use tone in our drawings.
Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Allan and Daisy (4H), as well as Aleyah A and Scarlett (4P), for receiving special mentions this week!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
