One of the highlights of this week was when the children learnt about food chains. 

We started by recapping on previously taught vocabulary of herbivore, carnivore and omnivore, linking back to our science topic of teeth earlier in the year before adding in some new vocabulary - prey, predator, producer, consumer, primary, secondary and apex.

The children had great fun trying to create their own food chains and applying the correct terminology when describing what they had made. They are now really looking forward to starting their next unit of science on Living Things and Their Habitats and linking it to this lesson.
