Autumn 1 Week 7 update
Please read on for the weekly update from Year 4.
The penultimate week of half term has been a busy one in Year 4.
Maths: This week, we have finalised our learning on rounding and moved onto addition.
English: In English, we have used either our trip to Castleton or another exciting experience (one child chose a trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park) to plan and write the first section of our diary entry.
Reading: We have finished The Iron Man this week with a continuing focus on inference and retrieval skills.
PE: In indoor PE, we have continued to work on our speed and agility and in football, we have started to develop our passing skills.
Science: We have planned and made our predictions for our science experiment investigating whether surface area has an impact on the rate of evaporation.
History: We finalised our learning about the Indus Valley and the children did brilliantly on their end of unit assessments.
Computing: This week, we investigated the question, 'Can you believe what you read on the Internet?'
Spanish: We used our knowledge of the numbers 1-20 to say how old we are. We also learnt how to say where we live and what nationality we are.
Art: We finished our block printing project, inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
Special Mentions: Well done to Hollie and Olivia-Rose (4H), and Ella D and Archie (4P) for their achievements this week.
Always Children: Congratulations to Ella and Jacob (4H), and Ella-May and Sophie (4P) for their excellent attitude to learning!
Thank you,
Mr. Piper & Mr. Hampton
