The first week back after the Christmas break was a great week to be in school as proven by Mr MacDonald's class who won the attendance award again.

It was lovely to have the children back and enjoying themselves in lessons as we began some brand new topics and carried some over from before the break.

UPDATES:

All children need their PE kits for Monday and Wednesday each week.

The children should be bringing their reading books and reading journals in every day of the week and will be given chance to change their library books on Tuesday.

Next week:

The topics we started this week will be continued.

- In Maths, we will be learning how to multiply and divide numbers by 1, themselves and multiply by 0. We will then be finishing our multiplication unit and attempting to improve our arithmetic scores
- In English, we will be finishing writing our own explanations about coastal erosion (something the children will be able to write about due to our recent lessons in geography). 
- In Reading, we will be continuing to improve our answers to vocabulary, retrieval and inference questions through our novel 'Street Child'

- In Science, we will be continuing our unit all about electricity - looking at the different power sources electrical items use.
- In History, we will be continuing our unit 'Industrial Revolution' - ask the children about what changed in Rawmarsh during the Industrial Revolution and why.
- In PSHE, we will be continuing our unit of 'Looking after our bodies'.
- In PE, we will be continuing to develop our understanding of movements in dance.

- In Art, we will begin looking at perspective, using Lowry pictures as our inspiration.

- In MfL, we will look at how to use the adjective 'my' when talking about members of our families in Spanish.

Keep working on those times table facts as we continue our push towards June and the multiplication check.
